Gaetane Thiney, Elodie Thomis and Corine Franco posed for the pictures under the motto: "Is this how we should show up before you come to our games?" They claim they made the decision - following some German players' appearances in Playboy last month - to raise awareness about the women's game."The pictures have come out really nice and I really like them," Thiney, who scored twice in the 4-0 win over Canada, told Bild. "We wanted to provoke and to generate some discussion."
However, she added that the French players must now back up their off-the-pitch antics with success on the field as they prepare to face champions Germany on Tuesday.
"We will try to get more attention through our success," she added.
